BOXING

The Word of the Day is BOXING

In the UK, the day after Christmas Day is called Boxing Day. There are a number of theories why this is called this, but no one can be absolutely sure which is correct.

Some say it is because of a traditional Boxing match that took place on this day and now has morphed into the Boxing Day Football (Soccer) Match that many people enjoy.

Another story is that traditionally employers would give a box of goodies to their faithful employees on this day, usually consisting of their leftovers and unwanted presents I’d presume.

Thirdly, its the day when you realise that after unwrapping all your presents you realise that your living room is full of empty boxes…..

Whichever is correct, I hope you have a lovely day and enjoy using this word to inspire you.
