Most commonly though it describes the period in the Christian calendar where congregations prepare for Christmas day

The Word of the Day is ADVENT,
Both because we are in Advent which marks the beginning or start of Christmas, but also the word Advent means the start of something wonderful and new. I hope you enjoy using this word in a story or a poem. 🙂
