Dear fellow wordsmiths,
I’d like to start this post by thanking each and everyone of you, who have been following the Word of the Day Challenge blog so far. You, who have been on board since the beginning and you, who have just recently joined us. You, who post almost daily, linking your words to our site, and you, who participate from time to time, when inspiration strikes. And also you, who kindly share our links so more of you join in, day by day.
This blog has been running for a little over two years already, and we’re now a happy crowd of almost 850 word-lovers. Wow!
Thank you for your trust and your interest!
But life is a changing thing, and we have some announcements to make today.
As you might know, this adventure was Dee’s idea in the very beginning. She kindly recruited Kristian, Kate and I, and the Word of the Day Challenge was born. After some time, Kate left the team to follow her own path and Dee, Kristian and I carried on.
Recently, Dee informed me that she had new life goals that were keeping her out of the Bloggosphere. After thinking it over, she expressed her will to let go of her founder’s chair. So Kristian and I had to discuss what was best for us, to keep the blog going without it becoming a burden.
And we both thought that we needed a third musketeer.
We quickly agreed on the person we wanted to invite into our little team. I sent my invitation crossing fingers that we had made the right choice. The reply came quickly, and with much more enthusiasm than I expected.
So it is with great pleasure that I introduce you all to our new collaborator and teammate…
(drum roll, please!)
Welcome Melanie B Cee!! Melanie hosts Sparks From a Combustive Mind, and she is a very prolific blogger. She also mingles a lot with the WordPress community, so you’ve probably at least bumped into her already. Mel is an awesome lady, with a great sense of humor and if you don’t know her already, why not give her blog a little visit, and say ”hi” to make her feel welcome? From now on, Melanie will be in charge of Tuesdays and Fridays, and I can’t wait to see what she’ll bring to the table.
So here we are, writing a new page of the Word of the Day Challenge story.
I want to thank you Dee, for founding this blog, and working with us for so many months. Without you, this whole thing wouldn’t have happened. I know how exciting the future looks for you, and I wish you all the best with your new goals! You’ll always be the most welcome, if you want to come and pay us a visit again… Anytime!
I also want to thank you Melanie, for joining our team. I just know (and I am sure Kristian agrees) that you’ll bring a lot to our blog, and I am just sooo pleased to count you in!
Last, but not least, I want to once more thank you all, WOTD friends and supporters, for keeping this blog alive and worth working on. We’re doing this for you, and every visit confirms that the Word of the Day Challenge has its place in the Bloggosphere.
A most lovely weekend to you all!
