25,000 times Thank you!

 

Dear fellow wordsmiths,

As the Earth is completing its first spin around for 2019, I want to take a minute and thank you for the past seven months!

As some of you know, Dee came up with the idea to create the Word of the Day Challenge blog, when WordPress came up with the news that the Daily Prompt was closing down. Kristian, Kate and I joined in, and teamed up to come up with a daily dose of inspiration for bloggers who liked the Daily Prompt.

Along the way, Kate decided to focus on her own activities, and Kira joined us with her weekly artwork, and the crowd slowly but surely kept building up.

There are now 317 followers to our joint blog, and we had 24,870 views as I write these words… Meaning that by the end of January 1st, we should have hit the big 25,000!

Thank you very much, for your support, and for making this daily work worthwhile.

Special thanks to Christine from Poetry For Healing, and Judy from Lifelessons, who are both participating regularly to our prompts, but experienced quite a bit of trouble with the pingbacks along the months. They were both very patient with me, when I had to add their links manually, and didn’t let technical glitches discourage them. To you both, ladies, thank you!

Thank you Dee, for sticking with us, even if the end of 2018 has been anything but a smooth ride for you. I admire your dedication, even when you had the best reasons to call it quit.

Thank you Kristian, for always looking over our shoulder. More than once, you covered for one of us, when you noticed that there was no post popping up at the usual publishing time. It is always such a pleasure to work with you!

Thank you Kate, for your help launching this site! Even if you retreated since, you were part of our startup, and without you, things just might not have worked this well. We won’t forget your contribution!

Thank you Kira, for giving a very special visual side to our blog. I couldn’t have wished for a more original, talented and reliable artist to give the WOTD Challenge a kick! You totally rock, and as the weeks go by, you keep wowing me with every file you send me for your Sunday post. I know I am not the only one feeling this way, and I hope that you’ll build a crowd of admirers, because your art deserves to be enjoyed!

The map above has been saved a couple of days ago, and it is an honor to know that the WOTD Challenge has reached so many countries in its first seven months…

I raise my glass to a new year of blogging all together. A new year spreading the words worldwide, and enjoying each other’s work! A new year of sharing with all of you!
